Emily - Farmer, Wongarbon NSW
My picture of the struggle in farmer mental health is:
Feeling unappreciated for the genetic improvement in our mob with lamb prices crashing and the season drying off. The necessity of off farm income is being realised, but the juggle it creates is immense.
Some of the glimmer/joyful moments that reflect farmer mental health for me:
Accomplishment at my skill set and the genetics we’re creating in our sheep mob. The freedom farm life creates for young kids and the way they can be a part of every day work and watch so intently never getting bored until we head inside.
A little more about Emily:
Mother, farmer and teacher passionate about shedding sheep genetics and bridging the gap between education and agriculture.
